Share the Warmth 2018 | Fundraiser

In December 2017, at least 300 of our neighbors were homeless and relying on local shelters to make it through the winter.

In January 2018, 155 homeless children in Harrisonburg/Rockingham relied on heating and comfort at their schools as their families struggled to find warmth.

In November 2018, Harrisonburg Radio Group and The Salvation Army came together to bring warmth to our neighbors in need. While for some it’s as easy as turning on a thermostat, for others, it’s a monthly struggle to afford heating.  It was time to Share the Warmth.

There were 2 ways to Share the Warmth in November 2018:

During the month of November, listeners dropped off new blankets at the following Sponsor locations:

Or listeners donated to the Salvation Army Heating & Electrical Assistance fund.

At the end of the month, HRG was proud to present The Salvation Army with 150+ blankets to be handed out to new shelter residents and to the Harrisonburg homeless population.
